Metabon Capsule Review: Price in India, Ingredients, Side Effects and the Truth About “Parasites”
Metabon capsule (Clean&Detox
and Whole Body Cleanse
on the pack) is a herbal food supplement with four plant extracts — 20 capsules, 2 a day, 10 days per bottle. Many sellers online advertise it “against parasites”. We looked at the label: there is no deworming ingredient in it. Here is what is really inside, what it costs and who should not take it.
Quick answer
- What it is
- A herbal supplement: celery seed, bhumi amla, gotu kola and turmeric extracts
- Brand on the pack
- METABON Clean&Detox; marketed by Flypost (FSSAI licence on the bottle)
- Price
- ₹2,490 per pack of 20 capsules
- How to take
- 1 capsule twice a day after meals, with plenty of water
- One pack lasts
- 10 days
- Is it a medicine?
- No — a food supplement, not for medicinal use
Metabon is not a deworming medicine — and not every “Metabon”
Search results mix three different things: this capsule, other products with “Metabon” in the name, and real medicines for stomach worms. This page is about METABON Clean&Detox — a dark blue bottle with a grey label and a grey box with a large capsule drawing.
| Name | What it is | How to tell them apart |
|---|---|---|
| Metabon capsule (this page) | Herbal food supplement, 20 capsules | Grey box with a big capsule drawing and a vertical “METABON” |
| Albendazole and other deworming medicines | Prescription or pharmacy medicines | Worms are treated with a medicine a doctor prescribes after a stool test. Metabon contains no such ingredient |
| Vedalabs Metabon Detox and other marketplace listings | Possibly a different product | Check the brand on the pack and the ingredient list against the photos on this page |
| “Metabon tablet” searches | Many people say “tablet” for any pill | This Metabon is sold only as capsules |
If you or your child may have worms, please read the safety section below — a doctor’s visit is the right first step.

Metabon capsule price in India and how to order
₹2,490 buys one bottle of 20 capsules. Decide how many bottles you want before the confirmation call.
What happens after you order
- A consultant from the seller calls you on the number you entered.
- You confirm the number of packs, the price and your delivery address on the call.
- The seller ships the order by courier; payment and delivery terms are confirmed on the call.
Sold in pharmacies or on Amazon? The offer we review is sold only through the seller’s order line. Listings with a similar name on marketplaces may be a different product — compare the pack before you pay.
What does the Metabon pack say it is for?
The box calls Metabon a whole body cleanse
and lists three promises: it helps flush away gut toxins
, works as a body cleanse
and as a digestion aid
. These are the maker’s words on the pack — we do not confirm them. “Detox” is a marketing word: your liver and kidneys already clear waste, and there is no good evidence that cleanse capsules make them work better.
Online ads also link Metabon to parasites and worms. Nothing on the label says that, and none of the ingredients is a medicine against worms or parasites.
Metabon capsule ingredients
Four herbal extracts per the label. The capsule shell is hard gelatin; silicon dioxide and magnesium stearate are added as processing aids. Amounts in milligrams are not printed.
- Celery seed extract (ajmod)Apium graveolens
From the seeds of the celery plant, a kitchen spice.
- Bhumi amla extractPhyllanthus amarus
A small herb widely used in Ayurveda; not related to amla fruit.
- Gotu kola leaf extract (mandukaparni)Centella asiatica
Leaves of a creeping plant common in South and Southeast Asia.
- Turmeric extract (haldi)Curcuma longa
From the turmeric root used in Indian cooking.
The seller has not shared the milligram amounts yet. We list only what is confirmed and will add the amounts when the full label is available.
Because the shell is gelatin, Metabon is not vegetarian — the pack does not carry the green dot.
How to take Metabon capsule
- Take 1 capsule after breakfast and 1 after dinner.
- Drink a full glass of water with each capsule — the label asks for plenty of water.
- Do not take more than 2 capsules a day.
- Stop and see a doctor if you notice yellow eyes, dark urine, nausea or unusual tiredness.
The bottle of 20 capsules lasts 10 days.
Metabon capsule side effects and who should not take it
Who should not take it
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women — celery seed and gotu kola are not considered safe in pregnancy.
- Children — only if a doctor says so.
- People with gallstones or a blocked bile duct (turmeric).
- People with liver disease — gotu kola and concentrated turmeric extracts have rare reports of liver injury. Only with a doctor.
- Anyone allergic to celery; the allergy can cross over with birch and mugwort pollen.
- Vegetarians: the capsule shell is gelatin, so the product is not vegetarian.
Medicines to watch
- Blood thinners and anti-platelet medicines (warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel): turmeric may add to their effect. Stop two weeks before planned surgery.
- Diabetes, blood-pressure and water tablets (diuretics), and lithium: bhumi amla, celery seed and turmeric may add to their effect. Ask your doctor first.
- Sleeping pills and sedatives: gotu kola may add to drowsiness.
Stomach worms are a job for a doctor
None of the four ingredients is a deworming medicine. If you suspect worms — itching around the anus at night, worms in the stool, stomach pain, a child who is not gaining weight — see a doctor: a stool test and a single course of a deworming medicine prescribed by the doctor is the standard approach (India also runs National Deworming Day for children).
See a doctor soon if you notice blood in your stool, weight loss without a reason, diarrhoea that lasts more than a few days, strong stomach pain or yellow eyes or skin. While taking the capsule, stop it and see a doctor if you get dark urine, unusual tiredness, nausea or yellowing of the eyes.
What the research says about these ingredients
None of the four ingredients has good evidence as a “detox” or against intestinal worms.
Turmeric: the US National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health says there is not enough evidence to conclude that turmeric or curcumin helps any health condition, and it warns that highly absorbable curcumin products have been linked to liver injury. Bhumi amla (Phyllanthus amarus) has been studied mostly in small trials for liver conditions with mixed results. Gotu kola is researched for skin and circulation, with only small studies. Celery seed has very little human research.
For worms, the World Health Organization’s approach is a single dose of a deworming medicine such as albendazole, given through health programmes or prescribed by a doctor, plus clean water, toilets and hand-washing.
